[Kannon]

The party including Paul Atreides and three women converged on the thopter landing area, with Lydia warning in advance of their arrival. They kept light discipline and relied on the blue glow of the trees to proceed.

[Cuyler Gray]

Cuyler glanced about, trying to get an idea of where everyone was.

[Razar Lanville]

Razar is hanging out with the thopter, looking through the cargo they were moving around, when he notices the arrival of Paul, Cuyler, Sinsei and Lydia. He seems a bit uplifted by the arrival of Paul. He had no doubt that the young man was capable of taking care of himself, but the fact that they could now provide support as he needed refreshed his sense of purpose. This was partial success, and potential momentum.

[Kannon]

"Captain." Paul saluted, indicating personal recognition. "Thank you for bringing my father's men here. The situation is urgent, we must waste no time."

Staff meeting. Your trust. in Atreides battle tongue.

[Razar Lanville]

Razar salutes as Paul approaches. The recognition is returned. "It's an honor sir," Razar replies. "Absolutely. Were you separated from Duncan or is he off doing what Duncan does?" There's an obvious and clear assumption of competence for the pair.

Understood. Always. in Atreides battle tongue.

He looks to Cuyler and Sinsei for a moment, then looks back. "I'm guessing they decided to take a walk without telling anyone, you found them, and Miss Vim lodged some reasonable complaints?" His tone seems a bit like authentic curiosity and assumption.

[Kannon]

"We'll talk Duncan in a moment." There was no mirth when mentioning him where otherwise would be. Razar was correct that Paul and Duncan shared both competence and rapport.

Captured. Injured.

"Something like that. It turned out well. Ms Vim and I have worked out a constructive understanding."

The decisive stress on the word indicated he expected no further displeasures.

[Razar Lanville]

"Understood," Razar replies, then goes into checking on Paul's personal status. "Are you in need of anything? What is the state of your person, equipment and provisions? We got loaded up before coming out."

[Kannon]

"I'm fine, the jungle has fed me well." He glanced around. "What about this operation? How many do we have?"

[Lydia Storm]

Having done the job of leading the group back, she left others to go pat each other on the back and turned to go scouting the area around.

[Razar Lanville]

"There are 10 members of the team, some are working on the other other thopter, figuring out how to fix or cannibalize it to get one of them flying, some have gone to get in contact with the Muadh," he explains. "No communications, short or long range. The local flora and fauna are... integrated into some sort of electromagnetic phenomenon that is interfering with everything electronic. Some of them are able to sense and are drawn to frequencies generated by Holtzmann devices as far as we can tell, which is why we got swarmed by the manta birds. So we have to get things running, but have to be judicious about how and when we use those devices."

[Efren Lanville]

Just then two men came running into the camp from the woods.

Efren saw the gathering and stopped for a moment seeing the Duke’s son safely back.

“Sir… we have an emergency.” He said with urgency, but waited to be properly acknowledged.

[Kannon]

Paul listened to Razar's brief and had things to say in reply but then Efren announced an emergency. He frowned a little.

"I suppose it is related to your Muadh outreach? Please speak, Corporal."

[Efren Lanville]

“We indeed did make contact with the muadh. They agreed to assist us in locating and observing the cartel base over the mountains… However, on our way back two of our group were abducted by a thopter which flew off in that direction.” He replied.

[Hadrian Martikova]

Hadrian had also returned with Efren. He waited with cold unfocused eyes and listened. Neither the appearance of the Duke's son or the red headed woman seemed to phase him all that much.

[Razar Lanville]

"They have Laila, Kiran, Duncan and Xard then?" Razar says, listing off the kidnapping victims of the cartel. "Let's go check on Ambrose at the other thopter. See if we have flight capabilities back yet," Razar suggests, looking around for Bernard.

Staff meeting in transit? Razar suggests in battle tongue.

[Kannon]

"Those we know of."

Place. Mapping out.

He turned to those he had come with, glancing at Hadrian in passing to assess him. The gaze was rather... piercing.

"This camp needs to be packed up and evacuated, Ms Gray. I'd ask you to coordinate the civilian team here while I'll be talking with my father's men. We need to act fast if we want to save this thopter. Chaen Marek has made a spiting, but not yet a debilitating move against us. Coming after this lameduck craft is potentially costly as the manta birds provide a deterrent against aerial strikes. This may change soon. We're dealing with a clever, ruthless enemy."

He returned his attention to Razar.

"After you, Captain. Corporal, please join us. We'll need to decide how to incorporate the Muadh in our planning. Sergeant." He finished gesturing Bernard forth.

[Hadrian, Lydia, Cuyler, inactive Eileen and Sinsei remain here. Razar, Efren, Bernard will move with Paul to another thread to join Ambrose.]

[Cuyler Gray]

"Alright." Cuyler watched them walk off. "Lydia's scouting the perimeter. We need to pack up what we need. Bit, we don't want anything that will slow us down."

[Kannon]

There was also this equipment the other thopter had displaced and no one had so far retrieved...

[Hadrian Martikova]

He turned to those he had come with, glancing at Hadrian in passing to assess him. The gaze was rather... piercing.

As insightful as Paul is he'll catch that he too is being observed and found wanting. Hadrian, who has made a career out of working within the confines of his station to fix problems generated by his superiors, considers this whole jungle incursion Tuesday. He isn't worried, he's just pissed and on a schedule.

"Lord I'm sorry for speaking out of turn." Hadrian said head bowed and with a flat emotionless delivery. "I do have engineering experience and wonder if I might be more useful assisting Ambrose."

[Kannon]

"Good. He wiil join you here soon."

Paul's expression didn't reveal what his mother's training allowed him to discern about Hadrian.

"I see Ms Gray has the hang of it. Anything else?"

He asked in general, toward non-soldiers.
