"A bit unrestrained, so far as it goes. Might need something to bite down on."

"That's what shoulders and necks are for." He said biting his lip and steeling a glance her way.

"So if we're talking about two noisy people..."

"... tipsy, noisy people. Oh hey," he scooched closer, "you know what I just realized?" His voice softened, "Everyone else around them will be somewhere on the spectrum between tipsy and out cold! It could work." He leaned in even closer, "Say Laila, this might be out of line but-"

He kissed her.

"That's what shoulders and necks are for." He said biting his lip and steeling a glance her way.

Sip.

"Might be. Sometimes you need something a bit more... durable."

"... tipsy, noisy people. Oh hey," he scooched closer, "you know what I just realized?" His voice softened, "Everyone else around them will be somewhere on the spectrum between tipsy and out cold! It could work." He leaned in even closer, "Say Laila, this might be out of line but-"

He kissed her.

Her eyes went wide.

But her hand went to the back of his head and pulled him in as she returned the favor.

When the kiss was accepted he pulled her in gently and enveloped her. A brief frenzy of passion as his arms and his body moved automatically. Chalk it up to the wine. And then he pulled away, breath hot with desire. "You're pretty. That's what I was going to say. Sorry..."

"Don't apologize."

A bit breathless, her eyes alight, and sounding a lot less world-weary.

This time she initiated.

And when they came up for air again...

"So, uh. Noise. We... probably ought to wait a bit."

She glanced around at their surroundings, her tipsiness and libido warring with instincts honed in both rigorous training and actual combat.

She was of course right. Truth be told, there would be plenty of opportunity to sneak out for those absolutely called for ways to be festive when it would be darker and everyone would be more drunk. Here, their flash romancing attracted some attention from the crowds, with cheerful applause.

"Nice marketing, Martikova!" Someone laughed. "Our wines get the girls!"

"So, uh. Noise. We... probably ought to wait a bit."

He groaned softly, "You're right... we-" Then becoming aware of the cheers and that they were aimed at the two of them he muttered, "aahhhhh fuck."

"Nice marketing, Martikova!" Someone laughed. "Our wines get the girls!"

"For you Mateo, our wine is your only hope. Drop by our stall, I'll give you the friends and family price!"

He whispered to Laila, "Let's get out of here. I know a place in town that sells the best crepes, my treat."

For her part, Laila put on a sunny smile, rose to her feet, and honored the crowd with a curtsy.

"Lead on."

A bit of food to absorb the booze was probably wise anyhow.
