Hadrian managed to extract the densely packed shigawire spools without hurting himself.

Xard raised brow and the whole development. Stealing secrets from Hawat wasn't exactly what he had been thinking about. He had hoped for something more... consensually shared.

"No going back now." Cuyler shrugged. "Let's take a look."

It was now easy to plug the shigawire spools into the solido projector.

Cuyler took the spools and did so.

A holographic projection came into being, that of the planetary spacecraft traffic. It played backwards, showing inbound and outbound dots blinking in an out of existence, many though not all with signatures that perhaps allowed their identification. There was the hypnotic ebb and flow to it, dictated by heighliner arrivals, though the traffic never truly died, given the mining operations and the exchange with Caladan. The scale of raw data accumulated astounded and caused vertigo if stared into for long, the amount only a mentat could process, unless there was a ship they knew the pathway of which they wanted to follow.

"Well. That's... helpful."

"I was going to say a headache." Hadrian chuckled, "Still... never know what might prove useful."

He examined the data, looking for patterns, or repeat traffic. On the off chance he might pick up something he can use.

Staring into it was causing vertigo and nausea. Too much raw data. Undoubtedly something useful was buried in it but if Hadrian had no key to his exploration, he would soon be fed up with it and unwell.

"Nope..." He looked away shaking off the rising vertigo, "This is too much."

He took another sip of wine to ground himself before asking, "Everyone good with me changing the channel back?"

[Kannon]

"This is out of my depth." Xard, who couldn't help looking at it in the end, admitted. But then he pointed at a flashing control. "But speaking of ships and transits, is it not our window?"

[Cuyler Gray]

"Let's put it back." Cuyler nodded.

[Hadrian Martikova]

"Our window?" He'll look in the aforementioned direction. "Ohhhh...."

While investigating he'll nod at Cuyler.

"I agree, we'd best replace it exactly how we found it. Perhaps better hidden as well."

Alas, putting the shigawire back where it had fit might be beyond their skills, especially if they were supposed to do it fast. The system might have been irreversibly tampered with.

"Ahhh, well that's not great. I'd prefer this not be out and about during inspection."

He'll at least attempt to conceal the shigawire. Assuming the process of returning it is too daunting. I'm not clear if there will be any further traffic to and from this station.

"Then perhaps it should be secured on the ship and given back to the Atreides on the next occasion? In this state it seems neither difficult to find nor serving its purpose."

Xard frowned. He felt guilty for having suggested looking around. Now they ended up with a hot potato.

"Hmmmm..."

Hadrian was equal parts elated and concerned about adding the spool to the ship's manifest. On the one hand, it might prove handy throughout the course of the investigation. On the other hand, the data would no doubt be proof of espionage if discovered.

"There must be some way here of securing the spools when they are not in use." Cuyler suggested. "Not that we have much time to look around."
