• Rumoured to have taken several lovers over the years. Apparently taking special liking in a new racing champion called Pankratos.

• Features finely sculpted and symmetrical, save for the subtly off-center shape of her mouth—a remnant of a surgically corrected cleft lip. Eyes watchful but soft.
• Wears her long hair in a practical braid; a single moss pearl pin is sometimes used as a fastener.
• Clothes favor restrained palettes—moss teal, slate grey, burnished gold accents—cut in elegant, minimalist Harmonthepi fashion, subtle moss pearl adornments.

• A commoner far from her homeworld, Laila seems to be in the employ of the Martikova family.

Unofficial Information:

• Clearly has some demons haunting her, and seems to like a drink now and then... but shuns other drugs like the plague.
• Has some odd quirks of behavior, and reads a lot.
• Practically joined at the hip with Hadrian Martikova. Makes little effort to hide the physical and romantic nature of their relationship.
• Doesn't like talking about her time with House Ecaz. Savvy observers well-versed in Ecazi culture will note that she's more specifically Elaccan.
• Virtually unknown in polite society.
• Most recently active on Caladan. Seems pretty ambivalent about House Atreides despite that.

• His uniforms, even when they lean practical, have symbols of House Corrino emblazoned on the epaulettes.

Official Information:

• An Imperial Planetologist, holds a doctorate in electrogenic ecosystems.
• Publishes, but isn't famous, partly due to commitment to basic research.
• Widower, has a daughter.

Unofficial Information:

• Has spent much time doing field research on Caladan
• His daughter Sinsei, willing to follow in his footsteps, usually assists him, but she's absent now.
• He could probably be diagnosed with PTSD at the very least.
• The reason why it is him who comes to oversee lion sanctuaies is anyone's guess.

Physical Description:
• A beautiful young woman with Zensunni features
• She has a notably sweet and melodic voice when speaking and singing, and a captivating athleticism when she dances.
• An ideal swimmer’s body – tall, athletic, arms disproportionately long in relation to her height, legs a little shorter than expected – but with wider than expected hips. Her build is common among the female Zensunni tribal pearl divers whose lives require endurance in both deep-diving and child-bearing.

Official Information:
• A slave belonging to Irene Ptolemaios. A maula, in the Zensunni language.
• She sometimes performs for guests and at events. She sometimes serves drinks and meals. She sometimes carries messages, and other trusted administrative and household tasks.

Unofficial Information:
• She was originally a moss pearl diver, but her songs out in the lonely marsh were heard, and she was kidnapped, and given as a slave to Irene. A gift. A little bird to sing for her. She was fourteen.
• She sometimes flatters a person who needs flattering. She is a capable distraction when a distraction is needed.
• She can no longer discern which steps in the complex choreography of her life are her own idea, or Mistress Irene’s ever unfolding intricate plans. Very much a pawn.
• She believes her people, the Misr, will one day need the influence she is building. She is keenly interested in those who come from off planet, for reasons close to her heart.
