Ambrose looked over the work, "Not bad Martikova."

He might have enough confidence to question young Paul Atreides' work, he was not going to question what the Swordmaster saw fit to do with a thopter, especially not one that would be carrying his ward the Duke's son.

With the fuel cells in place, Ambrose got to running the thopter through its systems, making sure to check the shield and turret functionality.

They were all nominal or close enough. Ambrose and Hadrian accomplished what had seemed impossible the day before - getting all three lameduck thopters battle-ready in such a short time.

Paul seemed to be in good mood. "Well done, Martikova. Sergeant Panrazis, I think it's time for you to fly out and find the Captain. I'll join you in the skies later, after delivering the team to the pass."

Ambrose looked to Paul in that moment, not as a noble or future Duke, nor as a commander, but as another pilot about to go out on a dangerous mission. It was easy to forget he was a young, teenage boy taking on so much responsibility.

"Good hunting Atreides! See you in the skies." Ambrose offered before boarding his thopter and taking off back to the Instructor.

"That's that then." Hadrian said watching as Ambrose took to the sky. "Now is as good a time as any to take a look at that gun." He said to Lydia.

While tinkering aboard the thopter wasn't the easiest thing in the world. Lydia's rifle was soon back to working order.

[Gun features retored.]

It didn't look as sleek as before, but it had all the damaged parts replaced. There was now an Atreides crest on the stock.

Paul was ready to lead them out to the pass.

"Do what you must and let's go. We are a bit behind schedule."

There was still hesitation, but eventually she allowed him to look at her gun. She gave him a thankful nod when it was returned, and took time to examine it and bring it up to check the scope before confirming "it seems good."

She would deal with the crest later.

"Then let's go" she said with a frown as she put the gun back on her back.

And they set out, with haste.
